The Barrier Removal to the Cost-Effective Development and Implementation of Energy Efficiency Standards and Labeling Project (BRESL) is aimed at rapidly accelerating the adoption and implementation of energy standards and labels (ES&L) in Asia, and in so doing bring about energy savings from the use of energy efficient appliances/equipment. The project also facilitates harmonization of test procedures, standards, and labels among developing countries in Asia, when appropriate, starting with the six countries, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam as BRESL Participating Countries (PCs). This assignment focuses on assessing the outcomes and effectiveness of BRESL and analyzing strengths and weaknesses to build on opportunities and to overcome barriers. This is to help improve overall project productivity and enhance its effectiveness and sustainability.
