Development of a National Recognition and Rating Program for Good Practices on Climate Change Mitigation (2015 - 2016)

Under the Low Emission Capacity Building Programme in the Philippines, IIEC assisted the Climate Change Commission in its climate change mitigation activities. In this specific project, IIEC was tasked to develop a Recognition and Rating Program that will enable private sector participation in the government’s climate change mitigation goals. The Recognition and Rating Program included an organization structure for the awards system, integration and harmonization with existing local awards programs, a Program Monitoring System to serve as system for reviewing the awards and rating scheme, and a Manual for the implementor.

Market Assessment for Electric Fans in the Philippines (2019 - 2020)

This project was carried out with the primary objective of expanding the energy efficiency and standards and labeling program for electric fans in the Philippines. A market assessment study with nationwide scope was conducted and based on the data gathered, electric fan market in the country was assessed. In addition, market growth forecast for common household and commercial fans in the Philippines was done. The barriers that exist to increased market penetration of energy efficient electric fans and recommendations to overcome such was included in the study.

Preparatory Activities for Establishing a High Efficiency Certification Program - Philippines (2008)

IIEC, with funding from ICA-SEA, implemented preparatory activities for establishing a High Efficiency Certification Program for air conditioners (ACs). In the development of a sustainable program, a good understanding of the existing market situation and level of stakeholder interest on high-efficiency products are necessary and these were obtained through market analysis and stakeholder reengagement activities.

Philippine Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP) (2010 - 2013)

One of the key objectives of the Philippines Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP) is the demonstration of the societal benefits of implementing a series of energy efficiency projects in the commercial, residential, and public sectors. In addition, it addresses a key public health issue of residual mercury that is likely to increase through the implementation of energy efficiency projects.

GEF/UNDP/DOE Philippine Green Energy Rating Program (Energy Efficiency) (2004 - 2007)

The Green Energy Rating Program (Green E) was designed to rate and recognize outstanding renewable energy projects implemented in the country based on objective environmental criteria. It served as a mechanism to award and provide incentives to project developers and end-users that gave significant and active participation in successful RE projects. Green-E was among the promotional programs that were developed under the Philippine Capacity Building to Remove Barriers to Renewable Energy Development (CBRED) Project.
